10 Best Eco-Friendly Resorts in Krabi for a Sustainable Stay You’ll Love

Krabi is such a wonderful place in Thailand that I fell in love instantly with! It is a lush, green, tropical and relaxing place with some of the most beautiful sunsets in the world. When I was looking for where to stay, I came across some pretty amazing eco-friendly resorts that focus on green tourism in order to bind with nature and obviously, there was no brainer where to stay! In this blog post I am bringing you the list of the 10 best eco-friendly resorts in Krabi for your ultimate sustainable experience.

Pakasai Resort

Pakasai Resort is definitely one of the best (if not the best) eco-friendly resorts you can book in Krabi! I personally stayed there and loved it so much.

It’s a beautiful eco-resort that promotes sustainability and green-tourism. At first I thought it would be just a really nice resort with lots of trees and plants, with eco-friendly rooms and grounds.

However, it was all of that + way more! On our private balcony we had an open bird cage with little birds inside whose mama was coming often to feed them. But the main surprise was when we saw an endemic monkey climbing from one tree to another. They are called dusky leaf monkeys and their babies are all YELLOW! I’ve never seen such monkeys! 💛

Monkeys are climbing the trees next to the outdoor pool, so it’s a great way of observing nature while relaxing and refreshing.

It’s good to know that Pakasai Resort is the first resort in Krabi to offer low carbon accommodations, activities, packages and green meeting services to guests, and the first to be presented with ASEAN Green Hotel Award 2014. The resort green credentials has been certified by Green Leaf Standard for ASEAN, an Internationally criteria for hotels with positive environmental actions.

Their green accommodation efforts are minimising the impact on surrounding ecosystems and water resources while maximising the use of open air space. That way they gain natural lighting, fresh air ventilation and obviously avoid cutting down the trees.

They do all of that and much in promoting sustainable tourism, therefore I honestly cannot recommend it more to you guys. 🫶

To top it off – it is so incredibly affordable to stay there! Win-win situation! 😍

Venice Krabi Villa Resort

Venice Krabi Villa Resort has another incredible sustainable philosophy embedded into their daily work and concept.

Not only is the resort promoting sustainability but it is also supporting local community by showcasing OTOP products as amenities and souvenirs. Plus, they’re active in community projects like beach cleanups, school renovations, and helping during natural disasters.

The overwater villas are built with local materials like bamboo and casuarina wood. They look so stunning and keep the environmental impact low. The resort’s design encourages you to live green during your stay—yes, even small changes like reusing towels make a difference there!

Ever eaten rice or seafood grown a stone’s throw from your villa? At Venice Krabi, the farm-to-table dining concept is as fresh as it gets. The resort cultivates everything from shrimp to herbs, composts garden waste for organic fertiliser, and collects rainwater to keep things sustainable.

You can even immerse yourself into the local way of life and the wisdom passed down through generations, especially the model of King Rama IX’s sufficiency economy philosophy which the resort has followed. I really love how you can even participate in planting and harvesting techniques, catching the fish or even making your own local meals during your stay there. Amazing concept if you ask me! 🫶

VARANA Krabi Hotel

VARANA Krabi Hotel is a gorgeous 5 star eco-friendly resort in Krabi, right at the Klong Muang Beach, 20 minute drive from Ao Nang (the heartbeat of Krabi and my favourite area to stay).

At Varana, sustainability starts with the design. Rooms feature high-quality materials that are recycled, reclaimed, or locally sourced. One of the coolest features is their groundwater banking system which mimics natural aquifers to store and recycle water while cooling the hotel grounds naturally—no electricity needed. It’s eco-tech at its finest!

Throughout the hotel grounds are various trees and plants, and if you’d like to explore the hotel grounds and nearby attractions like Dragon Crest Mountain trailhead, the hotel can transfer you with their electric tuk-tuks.

Anana Ecological Resort Krabi – SHA Extra Plus

Anana Ecological Resort is to some the best eco-resort in Krabi and for a good reason!

Everything here is designed with the planet in mind. Low-energy air conditioning, solar-powered heating, and the use of local materials make your stay as green as it is relaxing. Even the pool is chemical-light, using volcanic minerals for a natural feel.

There’s also an on-site permaculture farm which supplies organic veggies, fruits, and herbs for the restaurants, so your food doesn’t just taste amazing—it’s sustainably sourced too!

Anana offers direct sustainable experiences like bamboo rafting and farm tours, letting you explore Krabi’s natural beauty while supporting eco-tourism.

It is also one of the most affordable resorts on this list (I mean all of them are really)! 🤩

The Tubkaak Krabi Boutique Resort – SHA Extra Plus

The Tubkaak Krabi is a gorgeous 5 star boutique resort at the Tubkaek Beach, very close to the national park Dragon Crest Mountain trailhead.

The resort’s villas are designed with natural materials and local inspiration while keeping sustainability and green tourism in mind – think outdoor bathtubs, open-air spaces and lots of natural light.

Not only are their restaurants so romantic as they’re on the beach, but a lot of the fresh produce comes from their on-site organic garden which employs traditional and modern agricultural techniques, including the use of alternative fertilisers derived from food waste, to enhance soil health and promote sustainable farming practices.

They’re reducing the usage of plastic (think paper straws and glass bottles) and maximising the usage of solar energy, so you’re guaranteed a sustainable stay there.

Islanda Hideaway Resort

Islanda Hideaway Resort is a gorgeous and affordable eco-friendly resort.

While technically not in Krabi, but on the Klang Island, I still included it on the list because the island is almost attached to Krabi and is not further away, such as Phi Phi islands. It takes about 30 minutes to get to Krabi Boat Lagoon from the airport (by taxi). From the lagoon, it’s a 10 minute boat ride through the mangrove forests to reach Laem Kham pier and then an additional 5 minutes on tuk-tuk to the resort. It’s not any more complicated than reaching Railay Beach.

The resort’s bungalows are inspired by traditional Southern Thai homes and built with local materials. You’ll love the open spaces and natural vibes—it’s simple, beautiful and sustainable.

Islanda Resort is sourcing food from local suppliers wherever possible. Also, it has its own organic garden, so you can be sure of fresh, local produce that’s really giving back to the local communities. 

It’s a really nice secluded resort in Krabi that lives in green tourism, right on the beachfront with an amazing infinity pool overlooking it. 🤩

Ban Sainai Resort – SHA Extra Plus Aonang’s Green Resort

Ban Sainai Resort is a gorgeous and quite unique eco-resort in Krabi.

It is surrounded by the limestone cliffs and wild flora and fauna, so you can really embed into nature there, even though you’d be a 5 min drive from Ao Nang.

The resort’s cosy cottages are built with locally sourced materials and designed to minimise environmental impact. Ban Sainai is a part of the Zero Carbon Resort Project, focused on reducing its carbon footprint with energy-efficient lighting, water-saving systems and waste reduction.

While it’s a really gorgeous and impactful place to stay, do bear in mind that the resort is operated based on the Dry Hotel Policy in which alcoholic beverage or pork products are not available for serving due to the respect of the Muslim community that lives nearby and works/runs the resort.

Either way, I personally think it’s a great place to familiarise yourself with the community and nature of that side of Krabi. Their villa is particularly amazing to rent. 😍

Rayavadee – SHA Extra Plus

Railay Beach is undoubtedly the best and most beautiful beach in Krabi and so the best eco-friendly resort there is Rayavadee – SHA Extra Plus.

If you thought only Pakasai Resort had the dusky leaf monkeys, you were wrong – you can also find them at Rayavadee!

If this is not convincing enough, imagine yourself having dinner under the cliff at the beach while watching the most beautiful sunset ever. 🥹

Everything at Rayavadee is built to work with its natural surroundings, not against them. The resort uses a zero-discharge water treatment system, ensuring the ocean stays pristine while keeping the gardens green.

Rayavadee goes beyond just keeping its resort eco-friendly. They’ve created an underwater artificial reef with retired navy ships, planted mangroves and regularly host beach clean-ups. Plus, they’re part of the FOOD4GOOD program, helping provide meals to kids in need across Thailand. HUGE RESPECT! ❤️

Honestly, everything about this resort is just wonderful and is surely one of the best places to stay in Krabi, but it is very pricey and one of the most expensive resorts on this list. But, if you do have the budget, absolutely go for it!

Aonang Princeville Villa Resort & Spa

Aonang Princeville Villa is a beautiful eco-resort right on the Ao Nang beach.While the beach itself is not my favourite one in Krabi, it is however, the best area to stay in Krabi if you ask me!

The resort has earned top eco-certifications, including the ASEAN Green Hotel Standard, thanks to its commitment to sustainability and its active support of local tourism and cultural preservation.

Additionally what is great about them, is they are dedicated to marine and forest conservation, with projects aimed at restoring natural habitats. Staying there means you’re directly supporting efforts to preserve Krabi’s natural environment for future generations!

Aonang Fiore Resort – SHA Extra Plus

And the last one, but certainly not the least, on this list of best eco-friendly resorts in Krabi is Aonang Fiore Resort.

The resort’s villas are designed with natural materials and offer private balconies with stunning views of Krabi’s tropical landscape. I especially like their Tree Villa, so romantic and beautiful! 😍

They also have their own organic garden, so you can eat the fresh and locally produced food.
