Best 10 Sahara Desert Camps in Morocco
Spending at least one night in a desert camp in the Sahara desert is not only the must have, it is an ultimate bucket list and lifetime experience. It’s a pinch me kinda moment. I stayed for 2 nights in a luxury camp and it was the best moment of my 1-week through Morocco journey. However, when I was trying to find a desert camp for myself, I could barely find any solid info, and I was lost in the never-ending list of camps. Therefore, I created a list of the best 10 Sahara desert camps in Morocco, so you can easily find one that suits you best!

Short on time? Here are my top recommendations:
- Best Value for Price: Merzouga Top Luxury Camp
- Most Luxurious: Sunrise Palace Merzouga
- Most Romantic: Sunrise Sahara Camp
- Most Affordable: Sirocco Luxury Camp
💡My tip: Because it’s going to be a long drive to get to the Sahara desert, I recommend you to book 2 nights, so you can rest well and have the best Sahara desert experience.
Merzouga Top Luxury Camp
Merzouga Top Luxury Camp is my personal recommendation. Everything about this luxury glamping was simply perfect.
With this stay you’d have 2 meals a day included in the price (breakfast & dinner). Water, coffee and tea are complimentary, but you’d have to pay extra for beers and/or fizzy drinks like Coca-Cola.
The outside area is gorgeous. Firstly, it’s in the middle of the desert, so breathtaking views are guaranteed. But they anyway decorated the outside area with chairs, tables, which is very instagrammable.
Inside your tent you’ll have everything like in any other hotel room: beds, blankets, private bathroom. The only thing you won’t have is the plug, so you need to bring a portable charger with you.
My favourite part about this camp was to just lay on the sand in the evening and look at the sky full of stars. If you’re lucky (I wasn’t!), you may even see the Milky Way. ❤️

Sunrise Palace Merzouga
Honestly, it can’t get more luxurious than this! Sunrise Palace Merzouga is the ultimate 5 star luxury desert stay in the Sahara desert and the one you’ve probably seen all over Instagram.
It’s a boutique hotel right next to the Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga whose owner is Youssef Oubza. He has such an inspiring story: as a little boy from the nearby village, he had a dream of working in tourism. Youssef went to the university and learnt many different languages, so he can engage with tourists. With hard work he opened a hotel in Merzouga which is definitely the most beautiful one in this part of the world.
There’s a stunning outdoor swimming pool, and trust me, one thing I missed at the Merzouga Top Luxury Camp was the swimming pool to cool off.
Because of the amenities it offers + the proximity to the Sahara dunes, this is also the most expensive accommodation on this list of best desert camps. It’s on my bucket list for next time for sure!
Even though this is not a camp, I had to include it because of its uniqueness and because it’s still in the desert (at the beginning of it).

Sky View Camp
Sky View Camp is offering exactly that – a sky view from your tent.
It’s honestly such a great idea because I really enjoyed just laying on the sand and watching the sky, but it gets REALLY cold in the evenings, so you can’t be outside for too long. I can imagine it must be so nice and cosy laying in your bed, covered with blankets, warmed up and watching the sky.
In front of your tent, you’ll have a nice terrace too and needless to say that each room comes with a private bathroom.

Sunrise Sahara Camp
Sunrise Sahara Camp is also very unique in its style and offering.
Their tents are dome-tents with one side made of glass. That only means one thing – amazing views of the desert. What’s also pretty cool (and kudos for the idea!), next to the tent they put an outside bed with pillows, so that you can actually lay on the bed while watching the sky full of stars.
Each tent has an outdoor terrace, so it’s really a nice ambience for 1-2 nights that you’d stay there.
One dome is called “Tayri”, a royal bubble with its own inside pool! Imagine being inside your tent, enjoying the bubble with the desert views. 🤩
Sunrise Sahara Camp gets booked up easily FYSA! Breakfast & dinner are included in the price.

Sahara Majestic Luxury Camp
Sahara Majestic Luxury Camp has what most of the camps on this list don’t – an outdoor swimming pool!
This is really the only thing I slightly wished our camp had, mainly because on our first full day, after we did the camel ride and visited a berber nomadic village, we had a few free hours before the quad ride. And the desert gets really hot during the day. Obviously, not having a swimming pool wasn’t a deal breaker for us, but if you’re looking for one, this camp surely offers great value for the overall price! Breakfast & dinner are included too.

Nomada Domes Camp with Airco
Nomada Domes Camp with Airco is a 5 star accommodation in the Sahara desert.
The interior is so beautifully designed, even the private bathrooms look very aesthetic.
You’d be able to enjoy the outdoor terrace as well. It’s a great option, especially if the Sunrise Sahara Camp gets booked out (which is my first choice between the two).
⭐️ 5 star ❤️ 9.8 Exceptional 💰£95+ per night 🏩 Book it
Sirocco Luxury Camp
Sirocco Luxury Camp is another Sahara desert luxury camp right in the middle of the sand dunes.
They offer ski equipment, so you can do some sand skiing in the world’s largest hot desert – such a unique experience!
⭐️ N/A ❤️ 9.8 Exceptional 💰£51+ per night 🏩 Book it
Magic Luxury Camp
Magic Luxury Camp offers beautiful luxury tents in the middle of the Sahara desert – another perfect place for sunrise and sunset.
The concept is similar to Merzouga Top Luxury Camp – you’ll have breakfast & dinner included, a nice fireplace with berber music, equipment for sand boarding, organised day tour for you, private bathrooms with hot water (all on this list have hot water FYSA) inside beautiful tents – pretty much all that is needed for an amazing experience in the desert!
⭐️ 5 star ❤️ 9.5 Exceptional 💰£68+ per night 🏩 Book it
Nomadica Desert Camp
Nomadica Desert Camp is super aesthetic and luxurious and it has one thing that most of these don’t – a hair dryer! 😅
The concept is very similar to the other 2-3 camps above, so it’s definitely a great choice.
⭐️ 5 star ❤️ 9.7 Exceptional 💰£83+ per night 🏩 Book it
Luxury Traditional Tent Camp
Luxury Traditional Tent Camp is the final camp on this list of best desert camps in the Sahara desert.
It’s a great balance of price + what it’s offering. It’s just like the name says – a camp designed in the traditional Moroccan style.
⭐️ 5 star ❤️ 9.5 Exceptional 💰£86+ per night 🏩 Book it
