15 Best Bangkok Riverside Hotels with Chao Phraya Views

Bangkok is one of my favourite cities in the world, and a place I could travel to all the time. Especially when you know you can stay in the most amazing places in the world for a fraction of the price what you’d usually pay in the West. In this blog post I’m sharing with you my 15 best Bangkok riverside hotels with beautiful Chao Phraya river views.

The hotels on this list range from luxury to affordable, but they all come with beautiful river views.

⚠️ Before we go into recommendations, I just want to emphasise that not all rooms in these hotels have the view of the Chao Phraya river, so if you’re specifically looking for a room that has it, make sure to read the rooms descriptions before booking. However, they all have a common area with the view.

The StandardX Bangkok

The StandardX Bangkok is a great 4-star hotel on the Chao Phraya river.

It is located about 40 minutes walk from both Wat Arun and Grand Palace, which makes it easy for sightseeing.

What’s great about this hotel is that it has an outdoor pool overlooking the river, and trust me, it’s crucial to have a place to refresh in Bangkok if possible.

Additionally, it also has rooms with balconies where you can enjoy the views privately.

Riva Arun Bangkok

Riva Arun Bangkok is another 4-star hotel with amazing riverside views and Wat Arun, the most beautiful temple in Bangkok.

The open-air restaurant adjacent to the river is the highlight of this hotel. The only con personally is that it doesn’t have a swimming pool, but if this is not important to you, then this hotel is definitely a great choice.

P. S. The sunset from the restaurant is so beautiful.

Lebua at State Tower

Lebua is one of the most amazing places in Bangkok, and the most popular ones.

The Hangover 2 movie was filmed here, so if you’re a fan, then this place is a must stop. While it’s not directly located on the river, it has amazing panoramic views of it from the rooftop.

I didn’t stay there, but I did come for drinks, which were ridiculously overpriced (the cheapest cocktail was £45 and it was back in 2024). However, the views and the ambience justified it.

The funny part is that staying at Lebua is actually quite affordable, especially for a 5-star hotel!

There are suites with river views and a private balcony that you can book. It’s surely one of the hotels on this list that have the best value for price.

Riva Surya Bangkok

Riva Surya Bangkok is one of the most beautiful hotels on the riverside in Bangkok.

The design of the rooms is very luxurious, so if you love boutique hotels, then this is one of the best choices in Bangkok.

Additionally, it has suites with a private balcony, perfect for peaceful mornings and evenings. And, it has an outdoor swimming pool too.

The Grand Palace is only 20 min away on foot, and Wat Arun about 30 min.

It literally has everything you need, it’s great for sightseeing and very affordable!

Shangri-La Bangkok

Shangri-La Bangkok is surely one of the best and most affordable luxury five-star hotels.

It has beautiful rooms and suites overlooking the river. The Premier Balcony King room even has a bathtub that comes with the Chao Phraya and Bangkok skyline views.

If you’ve always wanted to try the Shangri-La brand, but it was expensive in the west, or you’re simply a fan, then definitely spoil yourself with this affordable luxury.

Avani Plus Riverside

Avani Plus Riverside is one of the best hotels on the river in Bangkok.

The best part of it is the outdoor infinity pool with amazing panoramic river views.

Hotels with infinity pools are my go to choice in Bangkok, so if you want to combine it with the riverside views, then this hotel is surely the best choice for you.

And the best part is that it’s pretty affordable to stay here given it’s a 5-star luxury hotel!

The Peninsula Bangkok

The Peninsula Bangkok is one of the most luxurious and expensive Bangkok riverside hotels.

But, if you’re a luxury traveller, then this is definitely a great choice for you. It has beautifully styled rooms, an amazing outdoor pool and is about a 20 min ride from Grand Palace and Wat Arun.

Chakrabongse Villas

Chakrabongse Villas is one of the most beautiful and unique riverside hotels.

It literally feels like you’re staying somewhere in the middle of an oasis, and not in the city. It has 4 luxury suites and 3 rooms decorated with wood furnishings and in oriental style.

There’s an outdoor swimming pool, completely secluded and surrounded with exotic trees. Additionally, you can enjoy a meal at a restaurant with a beautiful river and Wat Arun views.

It has an amazing outdoor pool and some rooms and suites come with the river views. If you’re into luxury travel, this is one of the most beautiful hotels you can stay at.

Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok at Chao Phraya River

Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok at Chao Phraya River is a truly beautiful riverside hotel in Bangkok.

If you’re into luxury hotel brands, but you don’t want to pay the price of Mandarin, then Four Seasons is definitely a better choice as it would cost you half the price, but you’d get the same level of luxury.

You can also opt for the rooms with the river views.

What I love about it especially is how they incorporated trees and greenery, so it feels like you’re in a little oasis.

The Quarter Chaophraya by UHG

The Quarter Chaophraya by UHG is an adults-only hotel.

They have one of the best outdoor swimming pools and their river view king suites are very affordable. While it doesn’t have all the luxury like the previous two hotels, it surely offers a great value for price.

The hotel is about a 30 minute walk from Chinatown, which is one of my favourite parts of Bangkok, don’t miss it!

Chatrium Hotel Riverside Bangkok

Chatrium Hotel Riverside Bangkok is an amazing 5-star hotel on the Bangkok riverside.

It has an infinity edge outdoor pool with beautiful riverside views and an open-air bar where you can relax in the evenings. But the best part is that it’s very affordable to stay here!

Millennium Hilton Bangkok

Millennium Hilton Bangkok is located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River. From its infinity outdoor swimming pool that is 20 metre long, you can enjoy the views of Bangkok riverside.

It is located close to Iconsiam, one of the largest and most luxurious shopping centres in Bangkok, which is making it a prime location to stay. We were dropped off there after our day trip to Railway & Floating Market and the shopping centre is just amazing!

I usually don’t visit shopping centres when travelling, but this one was pretty cool because on the main floor it has a street food market which was amazing! There’s also a lot of fresh fruit you can buy, which I highly recommend.

Overall, it’s a very good choice to stay.

Royal Orchid Sheraton Riverside Hotel Bangkok

Royal Orchid Sheraton Riverside Hotel Bangkok is another great choice close to Iconsiam, actually it’s on the opposite side of the river from it.

The hotel is quite affordable and has two outdoor pools overlooking the river. Additionally, all rooms here come with the floor-to-ceiling windows and Chao Phraya river views.

It’s definitely one of the best budget-friendly choices on this list.

Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort

And lastly, Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort is the most beautiful resort on the west bank of Chao Phraya river.

It’s on the opposite side of the famous Asiatique Sky Ferris Wheel.

Anantara is the best choice if you’d love to relax, especially in the mornings and evenings.
