11 Best Hotels in Palermo City Centre Ideal for Sightseeing
Palermo is one of the most unique cities in Sicily, with rich history and culture. But, it’s also very chaotic at times, so staying in the right place will make all the difference. While you still want to be close to the historic centre, especially if you’re not renting a car, it’s very important to stay in a hotel where you’ll be able to relax after the whole day. So, in this blog post I’m sharing with you my 11 best hotels in Palermo city centre to choose from.
The hotels on this list are either in the heart of Palermo or a short walk to it, so they are all ideal for sightseeing. They also range in budget, so that no matter your travel style, you’d be able to find something that’s a good fit for you.

Grand Hotel Et Des Palmes
Grand Hotel Et Des Palmes is a beautiful hotel in Palermo, very close to the city centre and located in an Art Nouveau building. It’s only about a 15 minute walk to Quattro Canti Square and 20-ish minutes to Palermo Cathedral, so all the sites are within an appropriate walking distance.
If you’re into luxury hotels, then this is definitely one of the best options in Palermo.
⭐️ 5 star ❤️ 9.1 Superb 💰£306+ per night ✅ Book it
B&B Hotel Palermo Quattro Canti
B&B Hotel Palermo Quattro Canti is one of the best Palermo hotels in the city centre because you are actually right there, in the middle of everything.
What I especially love about this hotel is the rooftop terrace with amazing views of Palermo – a great place to enjoy when you want to rest from sightseeing.
Additionally, it’s an affordable option, so it definitely has some great value for price – you definitely won’t get wrong if you choose to book this hotel.
⭐️ 3 star ❤️ 8.3 Very Good 💰£105+ per night ✅ Book it

Hotel Politeama
Hotel Politeama is just outside the historical centre, but still in the city centre area, so all the key attractions are within 15-20 minutes walking distance.
It’s located in a nice area and also has a great rooftop where you can enjoy the views.
Overall, another great value for price.
⭐️ 4 star ❤️ 8.9 Fabulous 💰£108+ per night ✅ Book it
Porta di Castro Hotel & SPA
Porta di Castro Hotel & SPA is a very unique hotel in the Palermo city centre.
It is beautifully and quirky decorated (think Vespas in your room), so if you’re into hotel aesthetics, this one is probably a good choice for you.
Additionally, some suites come with a spa hot tub, which are not much more expensive than standard rooms, so I would definitely go with this option.
There’s also a swimming pool which is much needed in the summer heat!
The location of the hotel is amazing too as it’s only about a 5 minute walking distance from Norman Palace and Palermo Cathedral.

Grand Hotel Wagner
Grand Hotel Wagner is a gorgeous luxury 5 star hotel which is surprisingly quite affordable to stay at!
The hotel is located in an early 20th century building which was recently restored and featured in the popular Italian movie The Leopard.
Grand Hotel Wagner is truly elegant and captures the vibe of Sicily you’ve seen in old movies. There are 2 bars where you can enjoy evenings – American Bar & Piano Bar.
The location is great for easily sightseeing Palermo’s main sites.
⭐️ 5 star ❤️ 8.8 Fabulous 💰£127+ per night ✅ Book it
Grand Hotel Piazza Borsa
Grand Hotel Piazza Borsa is a beautiful 4 star hotel in the Palermo historic centre.
It is located just 400 m (1312 ft) from Quattro Canti Square, so sightseeing will be done easily, especially if you have only one day in Palermo.
The hotel has a panoramic terrace where you can enjoy the views of the city.
⭐️ 4 star ❤️ 8.5 Very Good 💰£205+ per night ✅ Book it

Palazzo Brunaccini Boutique Hotel
Palazzo Brunaccini is a boutique hotel in Palermo’s central location, just about 10 minutes walk from the cathedral and Teatro Massimo.
The rooms are elegantly decorated and some come with jacuzzi.
If you’re into boutique hotels with great value for price, this is surely a great choice.
⭐️ 4 star ❤️ 8.5 Very Good 💰£123+ per night ✅ Book it
NH Collection Palermo Palazzo Sitano
NH Collection Palermo Palazzo Sitano is located in a beautiful 18th century baroque town house in the historic centre of Palermo.
The rooms are contemporary decorated though and the good news is that pets are allowed, so if you’re travelling with a furry friend, this is the best choice for you.
⭐️ 4 star ❤️ 8.9 Fabulous 💰£211+ per night ✅ Book it

Palazzo del Poeta – Dimora Contemporanea
Palazzo del Poeta is one of the most beautiful hotels you can book in Palermo city centre with easy access to main sights.
It’s located in a historic building and has a sun terrace and bar.
The hotel is within the range of what I love to call the affordable luxury. Meaning, you won’t break the bank if you stay there, but you will get the luxury experience and decor during your stay.
⭐️ N/A ❤️ 9.3 Superb 💰£187+ per night ✅ Book it
Ambrosia-Timeless Hosting
Ambrosia-Timeless Hosting is such a beautiful and uniquely decorated hotel in the Palermo city centre.
If you thought the previous one was the best, well, to me Ambrosia is even better!
Location wise, it is close to Fontana Pretoria and Palermo Cathedral – some of the most popular attractions in the city.
But what’s the best about this hotel is that it has the highest rated reviews from all the hotels on this list, which actually says a lot – definitely an amazing value for price!
⭐️ N/A ❤️ 9.7 Exceptional 💰£192+ per night ✅ Book it

Bastione Spasimo Boutique Hotel
And lastly, Bastione Spasimo is a boutique hotel within a walking distance from the main sites of Palermo.
This hotel is pretty unique because it is built within the walls of the 16th century Bastione dello Spasismo, one of the most important monuments in the history of Palermo.
What this hotel has that others on this list don’t, is an amazing outdoor pool, which is great if you’re visiting in summer! While Palermo is close to beaches, it’s still a few minutes to half an hour drive to get to one. And after a long day in the heat, you’d want to refresh. There’s also an indoor pool if you visit during other seasons.
It too has amazing reviews and is definitely one of the best hotels in Palermo city centre.
