Top 9 Taormina Hotels on the Beach for Every Budget

Taormina is one of the most popular places in Sicily, and for a good reason. It is beautiful, full of history and situated on the Ionian Sea, one of my favourite seas in Sicily and on the Mediterranean. Taormina is especially popular in the summer season, which is why in this blog post I am sharing with you my top 9 Taormina hotels on the beach.

However, one thing that always comes up is that Taormina is not the cheapest place in Sicily, with some of the most beautiful and prestigious hotels being exactly there. But, while Taormina doesn’t lack 5-star luxury hotels, there are still some really affordable choices too.

Therefore, in this blog post the hotels range from luxury to affordable budget options, so that no matter your travel style, you’d still be able to find a good option for yourself.

💡Before we go into recommendations, I just want to emphasise that not all of the hotels on this list are open throughout the whole year. Some run only in the high season, so keep that in mind when making a booking.

Atlantis Bay – VRetreats

Atlantis Bay is a great choice if you want to have a private access to the beach, but still be relatively close to the Taormina’s centre.

The hotel is located on a cliff in Baia delle Sirene Bay. You can walk for 14 minutes to reach Isola Bella island, a nature reserve and one of the most beautiful beaches in Sicily.

Suites at Atlantis Bay are really special. Most have large terraces with amazing sea views and all have separate living rooms/bedrooms with beautiful marble bathrooms. These are perfect for families as the living room can easily fit 2 single beds.

Mazzarò Sea Palace – The Leading Hotels of the World

Mazzaro Sea Palace is another luxury 5 star hotel in Taormina with a private beach area.

You can walk for 12 min to get to Isola Bella. To reach the centre of Taormina, you can take a cable car or drive for approximately 30 minutes.

All rooms at Mazzaro Sea Palace offer amazing views of the Ionian Sea. My favourite is a Suite with a Private Pool.

Villa Sant’Andrea, A Belmond Hotel, Taormina Mare

Villa Sant’ Andrea is a 5 star Belmond hotel on the beach.

Villa Sant’ Andrea is located in the Bay of Mazzaro with access to the private beach. It is also only a 6 minutes’ walk from Isola Bella.

It was built in the 20th century by a noble Englishman, so you can expect the luxury touch of British countryside in the Mediterranean.

Beside the beach, what I love is their infinity pool from where you can enjoy the beautiful Ionian views.

La Plage Resort

La Plage Resort is a gorgeous eco-friendly resort right at Isola Bella.

It’s surrounded by pines and gardens and its spacious rooms, bungalows and suites are designed in a sustainable way taking into account the surrounding nature.

The cable car that goes to Taormina town centre is right there, so it’s very convenient for you to explore the town while staying at the most beautiful beach in Taormina.

UNA Hotels Capotaormina

UNA Hotels Capotaormina is one of the most unique Taormina hotels on the beach.

It is perched on a rock below Taormina and is surrounded by the sea, so the amazing views are guaranteed.

To access the private beach, you will need to use a lift carved into the rock – a pretty cool experience if you ask me!

Plus, there’s an infinity pool too below the rock with amazing views of the Ionian Sea.

Additionally, it is on the more affordable side, even in the peak summer season.

Hotel Lido Mediterranee is one of the most affordable Taormina hotels on the beach that you can find.

While the design of the rooms is simple and nothing extraordinary, the hotel does come with an amazing private beach and sun loungers, so if being at the beach during your time in Taormina is the most important thing to you, and you don’t want to spend a lot of money, then this is a no-brainer!

Even in the summer season, the overall price of the room is cheaper than most other hotels on this list in the low season.

Hotel Baia Azzurra

And speaking of affordable hotels on the beach, Hotel Baia Azzurra is an even cheaper option!

The hotel also has the private beach access, and it has an amazing outdoor terrace where you can enjoy the views, especially in mornings or evenings if visiting in summer.

The cable car is closeby, so you can easily reach the city centre too.

Hotel Caparena is a beautiful 4-star hotel on a private beach.

It has an amazing sea-view terrace and an outdoor swimming pool.

The only downside is that it is located a bit further away, but if you rent a car (which is anyways my recommendation for Sicily), you can easily reach Taormina. Plus, the hotel is really beautiful and affordable.

Mendolia Beach Hotel

And lastly, Mendolia Beach Hotel is the most affordable beach hotel on this list, so if you’re looking for some budget options, this is the best hotel for you!

What’s great about it is that each room has a balcony with views of the Isola Bella Bay. Plus, it’s only 100 m (328 ft) from the cable car, so you can easily reach the town centre.

It’s a really great budget choice.
