Le Meridien Chiang Rai Resort
It’s my personal favourite hotel and resort in Chiang Rai and honestly I cannot recommend it more. 🫶
When I was researching where to stay myself, I noticed that Le Meridien pops up pretty much on every page and it’s always in the top recommendations. It really looked amazing on photos and what I’ve seen on social media, but what got me to book my stay there was the value I’m getting for the price. It’s a 5-star hotel with superb reviews for such a reasonable price!
And the moment you step in, you’d be left in awe with the beautiful Lanna style architecture. They thought of every single detail.
It’s such a great place to relax because it’s on the banks of the Kok River, a tributary of Mekong, with not one, but 3 outdoor swimming pools! There you’ll also find a nice Italian restaurant which is perfect for dinner and sunset. Each room has a balcony which is perfect for evenings and early mornings.

It’s another gorgeous Lanna style hotel that you’d enjoy. Just like Le Meridien, it is always mentioned in recommendations. There’s a nice outdoor swimming pool where you can relax before and/or after sightseeing.
And, it is even more affordable than Le Meridien!

Riva Vista Riverfront Resort Chiang Rai
Riva Vista is a beautiful riverside resort in Chiang Rai and while it is loved by any kind of traveller, families particularly like this resort.

It’s a beautiful small boutique hotel just 400m (1312 ft) away from the Clock Tower, which is why rooms have clock walled images.
Because it’s in a central location, you can rent a bike for free and explore that way. What I like the most about this hotel is that there’s a library and a book reading corner, which is perfect for chilling.
The only con is that there’s no swimming pool, but there’s a nice garden and fitness centre + the library. It is however one of the most affordable boutique hotels you’d find in Chiang Rai.

They even have a restaurant called Rasablanca offering a variety of fusion cuisine.
There’s an outside swimming pool where you can relax and the hotel is conveniently located in the city centre, a 3 minute walk to The King Mengrai Great Memorial.

Saikaew Resort
Saikaew Resort is a little bit different from others. It is categorised as a natural boutique hotel because it is renting cottages (with modern facilities), which are embedded into nature’s landscape.

Each cottage has a private kitchen and an outdoor terrace, so you can enjoy your surroundings at any time.
The best part? It is super incredibly cheap!!

Boutique Hotels near Chiang Rai
Even though these 3 hotels are not in Chiang Rai because of their close proximity and uniqueness I wanted to include them in this blog post.
Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort
Honestly, Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort is more than a hotel – it’s a bucket list experience!
Though it won’t cost you a little. Actually, on the contrary! BUT, there aren’t that many hotels in the world that are in nature surrounded by wild animals, in this case elephants!
Imagine waking up in the morning and the first thing you see is an elephant. And the best part – you can interact with them! The staff here take care of these wonderful animals, which is why they’re very friendly.
I personally spent a day at the Elephant Sanctuary near Chiang Mai and this was my favourite experience during my 2 weeks in Thailand. 🥹
I’m already saving money to be here in the future, but if you can already do it, I don’t see what’s stopping you from booking. ❤️
⭐️ 5 star ❤️ 9.2 Superb 💰1099+ per night 🏩 Book it
Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle
Another bucket list stay experience. And THE MOST EXPENSIVE one!
But if you’re into ultimate luxury travel, then Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle is definitely a must have! Each tent has a private balcony with panoramic views and an outdoor bathtub.
The design is simply wonderful and perfect for honeymoon or couple stay.
Just bear in mind that the minimum of 2 nights is required when making a booking.
⭐️ 5 star ❤️ 9.7 Exceptional 💰2600+ per night 🏩 Book it
Katiliya Mountain Resort And Spa
It’s a wonderful boutique resort situated on the hill between Chiang Rai, Mae Sai and Doi Mae Salong. You’d be enjoying the landscape views of lush green valleys, mountain lakes and forest hills.
Katiliya Park is a Nature Park and it’s right there next to the resort, so you’d be able to do some walking, hiking and/or bicycling while there. If you’re an animal lover, there are over 100 animals there, like swans, ducks, geese, rabbits, deer alongside macaw and bird sanctuary.
It’s a perfect combination if you, like me, love culture, wilderness and a little bit of adventure.
