It’s not a secret that London is one of the most instagrammable cities in the world. And if you’re reading this blog post, then it means that you also love taking beautiful photos on your travels. As a local who has been living in London since 2018, I know all the instagram-worthy spots in the city, which is why I created this list of 37 best London instagram spots for you to check out.

While most of these locations are in central London, I also shared some spots further away, but with great views of London. Additionally, I have created my Google Maps with these exact locations for your easier navigation.

💡P. S. All of my photos have been taken with a phone camera, so rest assured that you don’t need expensive equipment to recreate these photos.

Best London Instagram Spots

Here’s my list of the best instagram spots in London, starting with my favourite photo locations.

✅ If you want your photos to be taken by a professional, I highly recommend taking this best rated Private Photoshoot with Video Clip Option.

Tower Bridge Queen’s Walk

Tower Bridge is my favourite London landmark and one of the best places to make instagrammable photos.

Undoubtedly, the best location for that is the Tower Bridge Queen’s Walk at the riverside. My favourite way of taking a photo is to sit on the wall with Tower Bridge in the background. For best results, the person taking photos of you should move further from you and zoom 2x or 3x – that way Tower Bridge is closer up to you.

While this place is the most popular and at times overcrowded, you can still find an opportunity to be alone in the photo, especially if you’re using zooms like I explained to you.

On the Tower Bridge

Another great photo opportunity is to actually be on the bridge and take a photo with one of the towers.

Additionally, you can also go inside the bridge and walk the glass floor, but you need to buy the tickets for that.

Tower Bridge is a great instagram spot

Big Ben Archway

Needless to say that beside Tower Bridge, the Big Ben is also one of the most instagrammable places in London.

One of my favourite photo spots with Big Ben is the archway under the Westminster Bridge. While this place is very popular, people are actually queuing for their turn, so you’d easily be able to take nice photos there.

Big Ben from Westminster Bridge

Probably the most popular photo spot with Big Ben and Westminster Palace is from Westminster Bridge.

So, don’t panic if you see too many people! My advice is to move further away as people tend to stick closer to Big Ben. But actually, the better photo is more distant because then you can play with the zoom (2x is better in this case).

Big Ben from Westminster Bridge

Big Ben Riverside

But if you ask me, the best and most panoramic photo spot with Big Ben and Westminster Palace is from the riverside when you step out from the Westminster Bridge.

Just turn right (to the left is the archway) and you’ll see that there are not that many people from that side. Plus, the wall is so big and long, you can easily walk further down and still take amazing photos.

💡My tip is to sit on the wall and the person taking photo moves all the way back and zooms in 3x.

Big Ben Riverside

2 Love Cafe

Not so many people know about this cafe, but if you continue walking on this riverside, towards Lambeth, you will pass by 2 Love Cafe.

It’s such a nice and instagrammable place with beautiful views of Big Ben and Westminster Palace. While the coffee is not the best you’ll have in the city, it’s totally worth the location, especially on a nice sunny day.

Big Ben Red Phone Booth

Of course, the most iconic thing about London are the red phone boots. While there are many of them across the city, a few of them only are positioned that way so you can take a photo with them and some of the landmarks in the background.

My favourite red phone booth is with Big Ben, which makes it also such a romantic place.

P. S. Most people tend to stick to the first phone booth, but if you walk down a bit, you will get to another one which has less people waiting in the queue. Just play with 2x zoom and you’ll get the result as you see below.

Westminster Abbey Red Phone Booth

Another great red phone booth photo opportunity is with Westminster Abbey.

Not that many people know about these as most visitors are fixed on the boots with Big Ben.

✅ P. S. Westminster Abbey is one of the best historical attractions in London, so I definitely recommend you to go inside.

London Eye Red Phone Booth

And lastly, you can also find a red phone booth at the pier overlooking the London Eye that also makes a great instagram spot.

London Eye from Westminster Bridge

Westminster Bridge from one side looks over the Big Ben and Westminster Palace, and on the other side over the London Eye.

Definitely cross the bridge to take photos with both landmarks from there.

Big Ben from London Eye

While London Eye doesn’t offer the best views of the city, it does have the best panoramic views of Big Ben from its capsules.

I definitely recommend getting a ticket to experience these views.

at the London Eye

London Eye from the Westminster Pier

My favourite instagram spot with London Eye is at the Westminster Pier. I recommend sitting on the wall and the person taking photos to move back and zoom in 2x or 3x for best results.

London Eye from the pier

London Eye from Jubilee Gardens

One of the underrated photo spots with London Eye are from Jubilee Gardens. Just zoom in 2x and you’ll get the result below.

London Eye from Jubilee Gardens

Buckingham Palace

Most people visiting Buckingham Palace stick to its entrance to take the photos, which is a big no-no!

The best photo opportunity is next to the Memorial Gardens, that way you have beautiful greenery with flowers and Buckingham Palace in the background.

Buckingham Palace Memorial Garden

The Shard from London Bridge

The Shard is the most iconic skyscraper in London with great panoramic views of London.

But, what I love even more in this instance are the views with The Shard. For the best photo opportunity, go to London Bridge and take a photo with Shard.

The Shard

Camden Market Umbrellas

Camden Market is the most hipsterish and alternative market in London – it’s such a fun place to be!

The most instagrammable part of Camden Market is the part with hanging umbrellas, so definitely check it out.

Primrose Hill

One of my favourite things to do in London is a walk in the park. And what’s great about some of them is that they have amazing views of London city skyline.

Primrose Hill is one of these, so don’t miss it as it’s an instagram-worthy spot.

Primrose Hill

Hampstead Heath Viewpoint

Speaking of park viewpoints, I love the Hampstead Heath one even more. Also, the park is really amazing and totally local as it’s outside the city centre.

I recommend it both as a nice photo opportunity and as a great place to walk.

Hampstead Heath Viewpoint

Greenwich Park

And of course, I can’t skip the Greenwich Park that has amazing views of Canary Wharf and east centre.

If you happen to be there during the cherry blossoms season, then there’s an alley of trees, also very instagrammable.

Greenwich Park

Hyde Park Kensington Gardens

Hyde Park is my favourite park in London, and it’s most beautiful and instagrammable part are the Kensington Gardens.

Hyde Park Kensington Gardens

St Paul’s Cathedral from Paul’s Walk

St Paul’s Cathedral is one of the most beautiful religious buildings in London, and while there are many nice corners with it, one of my favourites is from the riverside, on Tate Modern side.

I particularly like it with blur zoomed in 3x as you can see below.

St Paul's Cathedral from riverside

St Paul’s Cathedral from Millennium Bridge

However, my favourite photo corner with St Paul’s Cathedral is from Millennium Bridge, precisely just after it finishes on the cathedral’s side.

St Paul's Cathedral

Horizon 22

In terms of the skydecks, the best London instagram spot is from Horizon 22. The best part is that you can visit it for free, but a reservation is recommended as tickets get booked up quickly. However, you can also walk-in if there are available spots on the day you’re visiting.

The Vault 1894 Pub

One of the best pubs in London is The Vault 1894 because it has a big outside area with up close views of Tower Bridge (the inside of the pub is actually in one of the towers!).

I still get surprised how only a few people know of this place, so make sure to visit!

The Vault 1894 Tower Bridge

Notting Hill

Notting Hill is one of the most beautiful neighbourhoods in London, and is especially famous for its colourful houses.

It’s not a surprise that because of that it became the ultimate instagram place in London.

Notting Hill Colourful Houses

Elan Cafe

In terms of the most instagrammable cafes in London, this goes to Elan Cafe.

There are multiple locations in the city, the one below is at Knightsbridge (close to Harrods).

Elan Cafe instagrammable cafe

Natural History Museum

London has a lot of amazing museums, but the most instagrammable one is the Natural History Museum.

The best photo locations are at the Hintze Hall; one on the central balcony stairs with the whale skeleton and the other one on the side balconies.

✅ The museum is free to visit, but you can also consider taking this best rated guided tour to make the most out of your visit to the museum.

Moco Museum

Moco Museum is a fairly new museum in London and is one of the best in my opinion.

Some of the exhibitions change, but they do keep the infinity mirrors room, which is not only a cool and unique experience, but also a very instagrammable place.

You can get your tickets here as the entrance is not free and is timed.

I’ve been to both Moco London and Amsterdam museums, and both are definitely worth the price, but the London one has slightly better exhibitions and the infinity room is more interesting too.

Moco Museum London

St Pancras Hotel

If you’re a Harry Potter fan, then visiting St Pancras Hotel is a must stop. But even if you’re only into beautiful buildings and instagrammable spots, it’s still one of the best places exactly for that.

I haven’t been inside the hotel where the famous staircase from the movie are, because as a non-hotel guests are mostly not allowed to visit, but if you stay there, then of course you can check the staircase anytime you want.

However, the exterior is gorgeous too and has plenty of great photo opportunities.

Check the hotel price here.

London St Pancras

Platform 9 ¾ Kings Cross

Of course, we can’t speak of Harry Potter and not mention Platform 9 ¾ at Kings Cross, which is right next to St Pancras Hotel.

The photo spot is free, but they offer you to buy their professional photos. You can also take them with your own camera, but the store workers will take the professional ones of you anyway and then you have a choice whether you’d like to buy them or not. I was happy with my own photos in this instance.

Platform 9 ¾ Kings Cross

Leadenhall Market

Another Harry Potter instagrammable location is Leadenhall Market aka Diagon Valley, which gets particularly beautiful for Christmas.

St Dunstan in the East

St Dunstan in the East is a beautiful hidden gem near the Tower of London with ultimate gothic vibes – it’s an abandoned and ruined church turned into a park.

It’s one of my favourite London instagram spots, especially in the spooky season.

St Dunstan in the East

Regent Park

Regent Park is one of the most beautiful and instagrammable parks in London, especially when roses are in full bloom (usually early June).

Regent Park

Old Red Bus

I can’t share the exact location for this one as you just need to have some luck to see it, but we happened to pass by the old red bus at Victoria Station.

They definitely make for a nice instagram photo.

How to get to London

Peggy Porschen

Unlike Elan Cafe, I am not a fan of cakes at Peggy Porschen as they mostly sell cupcakes which I find too buttery, but they do have a nice photo spot that’s very instagrammable.

The photo I took was at Peggy Porschen Chelsea which has closed sadly, but you can still visit the one at Belgravia.

Peggy Porschen Belgravia

Brixton Street Art

Brixton is not the nicest neighbourhood in London, but they do have pretty cool street art.

Brixton Street Art

Shakespeare Street Art

Close to Borough Market, you will find a nice mural of Shakespeare, which I love the most and find it very instagrammable.

Where to Stay in London

The best is to stay in Zone 1, which is the city centre. That way a lot of main sights will be within walking distance and you won’t be dependent on public transport that much.
