Best Farm Stays in Sicily Perfect for Agritourism
Agritourism in Sicily is ever growing because it is successfully blending agriculture and tourism, where working farms have become open to the public for education, recreation and overnight stays. If you’re looking for a hand-first experience of farmstay in Sicily where you can connect with rural life, in this blog post I am sharing with you my chosen best farm stays in Sicily.
To make things for you easier, because there are soooo many options online, I picked 2 best farm stays in the 4 most popular areas of Sicily: Palermo, Catania, Syracuse and Agrigento. That way, no matter what your Sicily travel itinerary looks like, you can find a beautiful rural stay in the area you’d be visiting. What’s best is that most of these stays are affordable, but still very beautiful and unique in their own way.

💡IMPORTANT: To be able to stay in the following farms, you do need to rent a car due to the remoteness of their locations. Also, some of them are open seasonally only and close for winter time.
Best Farm Stays in Palermo Area
The first area we will focus on is near Palermo.
Palermo is a great city, the capital of Sicily and therefore it’s not to be missed. But, let’s not kid ourselves – it can be a pretty hectic town, especially for a night stay!
So, if you’d love to be close to Palermo, but still have a relaxing stay, the farms below are a great choice for that.
Masseria Rossella
Masseria Rossella overlooks the Scanzano Valley, which is a perfect location if you love trekking and hiking.
The location is beautiful because you will be surrounded by forests, valleys, lakes, olive groves and vineyards. You can also arrange horse riding.
Additionally, if you want to just relax there’s a beautiful outdoor pool overlooking the valley.
The farm is offering a great value for price given how affordable it is!

Agriturismo le Campanelle
Agriturismo le Campanelle is a beautiful farm stay with pool and amazing sea views near Cefalu.
On the farm they’re producing olive oil from centuries old olive trees, which you’d be able to taste and buy to bring home with you. There’s also a restaurant on-site where you can try local Sicilian dishes.
The farmhouse is located at the gateway to the Madonie Natural Park known for its landscapes and rich vegetation, which you’d be able to easily explore.

Best Farm Stays in Catania Area
The Catania area is one of my favourite in Sicily (although I’m not a fan of Catania itself) because of its close proximity to Etna, Taormina and Savoca, which were some of the places I loved the most on my Sicily road trip.
Arcobaleno dell’Etna
Arcobaleno dell’Etna is a farm located on the slopes of Etna with amazing views of the volcano and Cape Taormina.
The farmhouse has 6 bedrooms each in different colours and accommodating up to 4 people. The rooms on the ground floor share the garden, while the rooms on the upper floor have a terrace with beautiful panoramic views.
The location is great because it’s close to Catania, Taormina, Etna and Alcantara Gorges.

Agriturismo Tenuta San Michele
Agriturismo Tenuta San Michele is located on the eastern slope of Etna, between the sea and the volcano.
The farmhouse has been producing fine Etna wines and virgin olive oil since 1860 which you’d be able to taste.
On the estate you will find 25 hectares of vineyards, a historic winery, a winemaking and aging cellar and a country restaurant.
There’s also an outdoor pool area with beautiful views of the vineyards where you’d be able to relax.

Best Farm Stays in Syracuse Area
The Syracuse area was my favourite because it has beautiful beaches and cute little towns, among which is my favourite of all Sicilian towns, Ragusa.
Masseria Case Damma
Masseria Case Damma is a beautiful farm and a perfect location if you want to immerse yourself into the Sicilian local traditions and life.
You will be able to visit their greenhouse to harvest fresh produce and learn to cook traditional Sicilian dishes. You can also rent bicycles and visit the stables and the adjoining dairy. There’s also a playground for kids, so it’s a perfect choice if you’re visiting with your little ones.
The history of the farm goes back to the 1400s, but the 19th century architecture is visible today.
Location-wise it is just a few minutes drive from Syracuse and the beaches nearby.
⭐️ N/A ❤️ 8.9 Fabulous 💰£90+ per night ✅ Book it
Agriturismo Alle Riserve Cavagrande
Agriturismo Alle Riserve Cavagrande is a restoration of an early 20th century farmhouse.
On the site you will be able to taste and buy wines and local products.
The best part about this farm is that there’s a big terrace overlooking the sea and Hyblaean mountains with a large swimming pool.
You will be able to enjoy various activities on the farm, such as bike excursions, ping pong table, a bocce court and hiking trails within the Nature Reserve. There’s also a kids playground, so it’s a perfect place for family vacation.
⭐️ N/A ❤️ 8.8 Fabulous 💰£78+ per night ✅ Book it

Best Farm Stays in Agrigento Area
Agrigento is an amazing place because there you will find the best historical site of all of Sicily: Valley of The Temples.
Agriturismo La Casa di Bacco
Agriturismo La Casa di Bacco is a beautiful farmhouse less than 30 minutes drive from Agrigento.
There’s an outdoor pool where you can relax. On the estate you will also find farm animals like donkeys, goats, chickens, even cats, so it’s a really nice place if you love being surrounded by animals and if you’re visiting with kids.
The farm is in the middle of vineyards and olive trees, so you can also taste their delicious wine.
It’s one of the best rated farms on this list, and one of the most affordable ones too – definitely a great value for price!
⭐️ N/A ❤️ 9.5 Exceptional 💰£79+ per night ✅ Book it

Agriturismo Passo dei Briganti
Agriturismo Passo dei Briganti is in a great location, very close to both the Valley of the Temples and Scala dei Turchi, but distant enough that you can relax and have some peace.
The estate is a renovated 19th century farmhouse. It is surrounded by 7 hectares of land cultivated with olive and citrus groves, fruit trees and a vegetable garden, all of which are strictly organic.
The only downside is that it doesn’t have a swimming pool, so if you’re visiting in summer and looking for farm stays that have one, then the upper one is a better choice. Otherwise, it’s a really nice farm and the cheapest one on this list of best farm stays in Sicily!
⭐️ N/A ❤️ 8.7 Fabulous 💰£55+ per night ✅ Book it
