Do the Seine River Cruise

Seine River Cruise is one of the most romantic things you can do in Paris. Having dinner, listening to music and soaking up the views with your partner is such a beautiful experience.

I recommend getting this 4-Course Dinner Cruise on Seine River with Live Music tour, one of the highest rated and most booked on GetYourGuide. You will be served 4 courses and half a bottle of wine or champagne per person. This river Seine cruise will cover the main highlights of Paris. Plus, the whole experience is brought to the next level with live piano and violin music. It can’t get more romantic than this.

Alternatively, you can also opt for this Evening River Cruise with Music if you’d like to skip dinner and go with the more affordable, but still romantic experience. One drink per person is included in the price.

Go to the Top of the Eiffel Tower

You can’t come to Paris and skip The Iron Lady! To me, it’s one of the most impressive buildings in the world, especially considering that it was the tallest building until the Chrysler Building in NYC was built!

It is such an important cultural heritage that it was enlisted to UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1991.

I personally love the view from the 2nd floor more, but being at the summit of Eiffel is truly a unique experience. On the 1st floor there’s a great place to stop for drinks, which I recommend. I mean having a cup of coffee or a glass of wine at what was once the tallest building in the world – yes please! And being there with your better half, it’s making the whole even better.

The best is to buy tickets online on their official website, especially for the summit.

Stay in a Hotel with the Eiffel Tower View

This is the ultimate romantic thing you can do in Paris – to stay in a hotel with the Eiffel Tower view!

Waking up with the view, having your first cup of coffee in the morning and a glass of wine in the evening, preferably on a balcony, and all that with your partner next to you.

Here are my top recommendations:

Take a Professional Photoshoot

If you’re celebrating a special occasion, like engagement or anniversary, consider getting this Private Photoshoot at the Eiffel Tower.

You will have your photos taken by a professional who will also edit photos and send it to you 48h after photo shooting.

If you love beautiful photography and want to have nice memories from Paris, this is one of the best things you can do as couples.

Have Dinner in a Restaurant with the View

Beautiful views are everywhere in Paris and you can enjoy them in many different ways. However, some of the best things to do in Paris as couples is to dine in a restaurant with the view, preferably those of the Eiffel Tower.

My recommendation is the Michelin-starred restaurant L’Oiseau Blanc at Peninsula, which is also a luxury hotel where you can stay.

What sets this restaurant apart though is that it offers amazing 360 degree views of the city. It has 4.6 stars out of 1.3k+ reviews on Google, so you know you’re going to enjoy it!

Picnic at Champ de Mars

If you happen to be in the French capital on a nice, sunny day, then having a picnic at Champ de Mars is one of the most romantic things you can have as a couple.

Sadly, I was there for the first time in the winter and the second time just after the Olympics in the summer of 2024, so the area was closed. Next time I’m really hoping to do it with my husband because it remains in my couples bucket list!

Watch the Eiffel Tower Lit Up

Besides picnicking, Champ de Mars is a great place to watch the Eiffel Tower lit up. It happens for five minutes at the beginning of every hour after sunset with the final sparkle being at 11 pm.

I cannot even describe the feeling. It’s like it’s the NYE, but it’s not. So beautiful and romantic.

Have a Romantic Stroll at Versailles Gardens

Versailles Gardens are the most beautiful gardens I have ever seen. Perhaps because we happened to be there in the winter, the day was so cold and almost no one was around, so we enjoyed the royal walk pretty much by ourselves.

While you can visit the gardens for free, except during Musical Fountains Shows and Musical Gardens, I do recommend visiting the Versailles Palace too.

I recommend buying your tickets online in advance or getting this highest rated guided tour.

Take a Day Trip to Champagne

One of the best and most prestigious drinks in the worldchampagne, was born in the Champagne region in France. What’s great is that the region is not that far away from Paris and is one of the best day trips you can take.

I recommend this highest rated guided Day Trip to Champagne with 8 Tastings & Lunch because you get to have so many tastings, you visit the prestige houses, such as Moët & Chandon, and you get to have lunch in a small champagne estate.

See the Moulin Rouge Show with Champagne

Speaking of champagne, one of the best things to experience as couples in Paris is to see the Moulin Rouge show with champagne included in the experience.

Moulin Rouge is the most famous cabaret which opened in the 19th century. It is best known as the birthplace of the modern form of the can-can dance. It’s a truly unique Parisian experience.

Eat Macarons in Jardin du Luxembourg

Macarons are my favourite French dessert. Or maybe second after eclairs. Either way, I recommend you buy macarons, go to Jardin du Luxembourg, sit back and enjoy.

Go on a Food & Wine Walking Tour in Montmartre

Montmartre is one of my favourite neighbourhoods in Paris. It’s the bohemian, art and cultural hub.

The whole area is like you stepped back in time and is one of the most romantic locations in Paris. I recommend going on this Food and Wine Tasting Walking Tour where you’ll get to experience 10 pre-selected food stops and try French delicacies, from cheese to pastry and wine.

What’s great is that it’s a small group tour, so the intimacy is guaranteed and therefore perfect for couples.

Do a Day Trip to Loire Valley Castles with Wine Tasting

Paris is gorgeous, but there are many great places nearby, perfect for a short romantic getaway.

Loire Valley Castles are among the best day trips you can do and I recommend taking this highest rated Loire Valley Castles Day Trip from Paris with Wine Tasting tour.

Castles, wine and love, can it be more romantic than that?!

Stunning view of Château de Chaumont with lush gardens, a renowned French landmark.

Spend a Day in Disneyland

Yeah, you might wonder why is Disneyland on this list and isn’t it a kids/families activity?

Well, I thought so too, until I saw a guy proposing to his girlfriend and she happily accepting. So if the world of fairytales and adventure is your thing, then going to Disneyland is a great thing to do as couples too!

Sightsee Paris in Vintage Citroen Deux Chevaux (2CV)

Just like driving in the old timers in Cuba is a thing, it is also driving in the vintage Citroen Deux Chevaux.

If you’d love to enjoy this private and unique experience with your partner, pass by the main attractions as well as the hidden gems, then definitely consider getting a Vintage Citroen Deux Chevaux private tour.
